ABOUT WHYLO

We built WHYLO to make
thinking visible.

WHYLO is a bilingual AI-supported maths learning experience for ages 5–18. It records how a learner explores, explains, checks, and applies an idea—not only whether the final answer is correct.

OUR STARTING BELIEF
A learner is more than the answer they gave today.

THE PROBLEM WE SEE

Learning leaves too much important thinking unseen.

Conventional practice is efficient at counting answers. It is much less effective at showing why a learner chose a method, where the idea broke down, or what helped them begin again.

01

A correct answer can hide the process

Two learners may reach the same answer through very different understanding, strategies, and support.

02

A score is too small for a whole learner

Speed, reasoning, creativity, representation, and recovery do not grow at the same rate.

03

Practice rarely explains what comes next

Families need visible evidence: what changed, what helped, and what the next useful challenge should be.

WHAT WHYLO DOES

Ask briefly. Observe carefully. Continue with evidence.

01

Ask

One worthwhile, age-appropriate question

02

Make

Words, objects, drawings, tables, or equations

03

Notice

Strategy, explanation, checking, and support

04

Adapt

One smaller prompt or a deeper condition

05

Connect

Evidence carried into the next lesson

WHO WHYLO IS FOR

One learning record, three useful views.

Each person sees the detail they need without turning a child into a rank or a label.

01

Learners

Ages 5–18, with questions that move from hands-on exploration to modelling and argument.

02

Families

A plain-language record of observed strategies, support used, and the next learning goal.

03

Educators

Concise evidence that can support—not replace—professional judgement and classroom observation.

WHYLO IS

  • A record of observable learning evidence
  • A support for the next learning decision
WHYLO IS NOT
  • An IQ or medical assessment
  • A diagnosis of attention or learning difficulty
  • A replacement for teachers, families, or school assessment
